Founded by behavioral health pioneer, Douglas Adamek, PhD, the professional services team at VITAL WorkLife includes physician peer coaches as well as licensed master’s- and doctorate-level mental and behavioral health professionals.
We also have specialists in areas such as anger management, substance abuse and personality disorders — as well as family and relationship issues. All are experienced in coaching and counseling physicians.
Dr. Alan Rosenstein is the Medical Director for VITAL WorkLife. Prior to joining VITAL WorkLife, Rosenstein had spent more than a decade researching the problem of disruptive physicians, advocating for industry standards and developing intervention strategies for addressing the problem.
In 2006, Rosenstein co-authored a landmark study of disruptive physician behavior that helped spur the healthcare industry to action. Two years later, the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) issued a Sentinel Alert on Disruptive Physicians that became effective January 1, 2009. Healthcare organizations are now required to publish a defined code of conduct and have a specific process in place for addressing disruptive physician behavior. Dr. Rosenstein believes that VITAL WorkLife provides the only nationally available, end-to-end solution available today to help hospitals and medical groups to effectively address the issue of disruptive physicians.
He has been widely published in scholarly journals and his work has been cited in the major media. He has delivered numerous lectures and seminar presentations and has been consulted nationally and internationally on a wide variety of healthcare issues including:
